Mark Hunt Chief Underwriting Officer
Mark’s a career underwriter with 40+ years in the game and no signs of slowing down. Now Chief Underwriting Officer at Syndicate 2427, he brings decades of experience across Lloyd’s Syndicates and corporate insurers, including senior roles at Syndicates 2525, 386, and 1156, and at Zurich Australia.

He’s steered business plans, made the big risk calls, and built the kind of enduring broker relationships that don’t just outlast market cycles, they outlast careers. Off-duty, you’ll find him on the sidelines coaching football, proving great leadership doesn’t end at the office door.

With 3 decades in insurance and two of those stitching together Accident & Health cover, Lema’s the one you want when the paperwork gets messy and the risks get painful.

From group schemes to one-off head-scratchers, she handles referrals, quotes, and curveballs with surgical precision and the bedside manner to match. She asks the questions that keep things watertight.

Always curious, always asking the smart questions, always making it look easy. Why is she still in the game after all this time? Simple: the people. And possibly the adrenaline.

Aviation

Mike Dalton Global Head of Aviation, Head of Underwriting
From vintage aircraft to complex aviation programs, Mike’s seen it all– and after 30 years in insurance, he’s covered most of it. With a Commercial Pilot Licence and RAAus certificate in Australia, and an Airline Transport Pilot Licence in the US, Mike has flown more than 50 different general aviation aircraft types and owns a small fleet of vintage planes.

Mike has built a reputation as one of the most experienced aviation underwriters in the region. He’s written policies for everything from foot launched hang gliders to airlines, aircraft manufacturers and airports across Australia, New Zealand, PNG, and the South Pacific. He’s held leadership roles in both large corporate and specialist underwriting agencies, as well as operational roles at one of Australia’s largest aero clubs and has held his own Air Operators Certificate for charter work.

Whether it’s structuring coverage for a complex risk or taking Scatterbolts, his 1953 Cessna 195 out for a spin, Mike approaches every risk with the precision of a pilot, the insight of an underwriter, and a genuine love of working with clients who share his passion for flight.
Jamie Connor Head of Aviation – Australia & New Zealand
Jamie brings over 20 years of experience in aviation insurance, spanning broking, underwriting, and claims management. Having worked across international markets and multiple facets of the industry, he now plays a key role in guiding our domestic aviation portfolio.

What sets Jamie apart is his combination of strong technical expertise, a genuine commitment to building lasting relationships, and a steady hand in navigating the challenges of complex risks. Outside of work, he applies the same drive and energy to coaching junior soccer, approaching the game and strategy with enthusiasm and focus.
David Tait Senior Underwriter - Aviation
David Tait is an experienced Aviation Underwriter with a strong background in both aviation insurance and hands-on flying. With more than a decade as an aviation insurance broker and several years of underwriting at Agile, he brings deep expertise in understanding aviation insurance and assisting with placements of aviation risks.

A licensed private pilot with over 14 years of flying experience, David combines technical knowledge with practical insight, giving him a unique perspective that supports brokers and clients alike. His approach is defined by precision, reliability, and a genuine passion for aviation—qualities that ensure he delivers the highest standard of service in every placement.

When not at his desk, he is always looking for new airports to take his family on their next adventure to find the best $100 burger lunch (or breakfast).
Angela Mosedale Assistant Underwriter – Drones & Aviation
Angela made headlines as the first-ever recipient of the ANZIIF -Lloyd’s Scholarship in Australia. Around here, she’s better known as The Fixer– the one who keeps things moving across Drones and asking the questions most people don’t think about.

With a background as a revenue analyst, she brings sharp thinking, scary-good spreadsheets, and a forensic eye for detail to everything she touches. If she wasn’t here? She’d be in Sicily, pasta in hand, living the La dolce vita.
Gini Dalton Underwriting/Technical Accounts Assistant
With seven years in the finance side of aviation insurance and over 20 years of second-hand knowledge (courtesy of being married to Mike), Gini’s the quiet engine behind the aviation team.

She’s got a special talent for getting the details right, whether it’s streamlining technical accounts, improving onboarding processes or working alongside the COO to fine-tune workflows. When she’s not at Agile, you’ll find her golfing, jumping out of planes, or flying in her own 1953 Cessna 195.

Nathan Sommer Global Head of Casualty
Nathan has over two decades of insurance industry experience, having first started in the industry as an insurance broker at the young age of 17. Nathan has held various underwriting and management positions with general insurers and Lloyd’s Coverholders having underwritten various product classes ranging from Business Insurance, Accident & Health, Specialist Motor, Property and most significantly Casualty – his passion.

Nathan is a very customer centric underwriter who thrives on providing tailored casualty products for brokers and their clients. His passion for casualty allows him to assist brokers on ensuring that their customers have the best available casualty product suited for their needs. He specialises in arranging facility scheme business for brokers with niche wordings and rates.

Nathan was awarded the Underwriting Agencies Council Underwriting Agency BDM of the Year at the Insurance Business Awards 2019.
Alicia Kastrounis Senior Underwriter - Casualty
Alicia has over 15 years industry experience, having started as a claims processor. Alicia has held various underwriting positions within general insurers and Lloyd’s Cover holders having underwritten Marine Cargo, Plant and Equipment, Property, Association Liability and Casualty.

Alicia pulls from her previous experience within the Hospitality and hire industries to be able to provide clients with the best service and tailoring underwriting solutions to meet their needs.
Stephanie Philippe Underwriter - Casualty
In 2008, Steph made her insurance industry debut at a contact centre in North Sydney. Since then, Steph’s career has spanned over several roles – including recoveries, claims handling and underwriting – within the Motor, CCI, Marine and property industries. Since 2017, Steph has specialised in Casualty Underwriting – the perfect niche for her natural curiosity, attention to detail and penchant for knowledge and learning.

As our resident Claims Manager, Matthew keeps the wheels turning and the claims moving smooth. With a lifelong love of engines, he brings the precision of a pilot and pragmatism of a mechanic to his work. Off the clock, he’s all about motorcycles, aircraft, and photography– set to a soundtrack of good old fashioned rock’n’roll.

Anna Stuart Claims Manager, Casualty and FinLines
If (or when) there’s chaos, Anna’s the one you want in there with you. With a law degree in her back pocket and over 12 years as a casualty loss adjuster, she’s see just about every type of claim and knows how to steer things back on track.

With Agile, Anna leads the charge on casualty and FinLines claims, juggling stakeholders, cutting through legal grey areas, and translating complex policies into real-world outcomes. She’s also the underwriters’ secret weapon, feedback back insights from the frontlines to sharpen policy wordings and close the gap between theory and practice.
She’s supernaturally good at keeping calm under pressure and finding the human angle in every claim. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about numbers. It’s about people, timing, and getting things sorted with as little friction as possible.

Gordon McNab Head of Construction
If it involves big risks, Gordon’s your guy. With a marine engineering background and more than 35 years in contract works and engineering underwriting, he’s built his career on backing bold builds and making sure the cover is as solid as the structure.

With Agile, Gordon leads the Construction line with sharp technical skill, deep market knowledge and zero fluff. He’s worked across reinsurers, corporates, and everything in between, setting up teams, launching products, and mentoring underwriters who keep him on speed dial for advice years later.

He claims he’s not one for the spotlight, but get him talking about risk mitigation or fishing and you’ll see the spark. When he’s not reviewing million-dollar policies, he’s waist-deep in water chasing the perfect catch. Proof that patience, precisions, and good instincts pay off in any environment.

James doesn’t just manage risk, he spots it before it hits the radar. With over 20 years in Cyber, Risk Management and Commercial Portfolios (including some time at Lloyd’s), he’s built a reputation for turning complex risks into calm, clear solutions.

He’s led startups, advised on breach response frameworks, and helped shape enterprise security strategies across Australia. Around here, he’s known for having a soft spot for funky risks and the weirder corners of the market. The more complex, the better.

Clive Davidson Global Head of Financial Lines
Clive has been around long enough to know what works, and wise enough to know when to change it. After 14 years as a specialist broker in New Zealand, he jumped the fence into underwriting and never looked back. These days, he leads Agile’s FinLines team with a mix of sharp market sense, product creativity, and a calm, no-drama approach that brokers love.

He’s worked with Lloyd’s Syndicates, built products from the ground up, and navigated just about every twist the market can throw. But Clive’s not stuck in his ways. He’s always learning, always scanning the horizon, and always up for a challenge.

When he’s not kicking complex challenges into shape, you’ll find him riding motorcycles or at the dojo drilling his karate.
Steve Oates Senior Underwriter - Financial Lines
Stephen has over two decades of experience in Financial Lines, both locally and in the UK, working in Agencies, Syndicates and Insurance Companies.

As our Senior Underwriter, Steve basically solves complex problems with a cocktail of spreadsheets, strategy, and sharp instinct. With 20 years in insurance spanning broking, compliance and underwriting, he knows how to read the fine print *and* the big picture. Steve would probably be driving a Sydney bus if he weren’t here, but we’re glad he’s behind the wheel of the numbers instead.
Sharna Stallard Underwriter - Financial Lines
Sharna started in insurance straight out of school, before heading to Uni to complete her studies. She has held previous roles both in Underwriting and broking which experience helps her deliver considered solutions to her broker customers. She loves insurance as it is the safety net people can rely on... it's always there when things go wrong.

With 30 years in marine underwriting across global markets, he’s shaping Agile’s Hull, Cargo, and Marine Liability offering — one well-steeped cup of tea at a time.

David started his career in London on Sedgwick’s graduate programme and has since held senior roles at Catlin and Axa XL, including serving as Head of Hull for London and Head of Marine for APAC. Today, he brings extensive technical insight, commercial awareness and global perspective to Agile’s marine offering.

He’s passionate about building strong teams, developing talent, and occasionally dreaming of a beach bar escape. (Masters degree? Check. ACII? Check. Learning bass? Why not. David is based 5 days a week at our Lloyd’s Box on the 2nd Gallery and is open to business on UK hours.

New Zealand

Liz Geden Country Head, Agile NZ
With over 24 years in liability insurance, Liz has worked her way up from entry level to managing portfolios, leading underwriting teams, and supporting distribution across multiple regions. Now she brings that depth of experience, and a whole lot of energy, to Agile’s New Zealand brokers.

She’s an active relaxer (her words), which means she’s either chasing her kids, playing netball, tackling house projects, or unwinding at the beach house in Matarangi. Preferably all in one weekend.

Jay Sanders Chief Operating Officer
Jay keeps Agile running like a well-oiled, fast-moving, multi-headed machine. With over 20 years in insurance and a Chartered Accountant qualification to match, he bridges the worlds of underwriting, finance, claims, and IT. Often in the same sentence.

He’s led major finance transformations, redesigned policies, and built systems that make work smoother for every department. But it’s not just about operations; it’s about people. Jay thrives on solving the daily challenges that come with growth—and doing it alongside a team of smart, driven humans. When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him chasing snow in winter, scuba in summer, or cheering on Chelsea from anywhere with a screen.
Matthew Rowan Group Risk and Compliance Officer
With over 20 years in the Lloyd’s market, Matthew has seen it all– from London to Singapore to Sydney. With Agile, he oversees all things compliance and risk, balancing regulatory obligations with a calm, pragmatic approach that makes complex rules feel refreshingly straightforward.

His background spans managing agents, brokers, reinsurers, and regulators, so he knows every side of the equation. If he weren’t so caught up in the glamorous world of insurance, he would be in a rock band. (We’re eternally grateful to have him.)
Ana Moore Customer Success Manager
Ana’s the first friendly voice you’ll hear when you reach out to Agile. From onboarding brokers and broking-houses to handling inbound queries and updating systems, she keeps the wheels turning and information flowing.

With a background spanning IT, logistics, and admin, she’s a natural organiser and problem-solver, happiest wherever she can offer support, bring order to chaos, and make life easier for the people around her.

Richard Hardy Global Head of Property
With 35+ years in the insurance and reinsurance market spanning London and Australian markets, underwriting Worldwide Property and managing large teams across ISR and multi class portfolios. Accounts underwritten are from multi billion dollar multinational accounts to the smaller commercial risks.

The key is every account is underwritten with same level of diligence irrespective of size, as our focus is service to our intermediated client base with a view of risk selection and profitability to our stake holders.
Henry Aldridge Senior Underwriter - Property
As a senior property underwriter, Henry combines technical risk analysis with market insight to evaluate both risk and Catastrophe exposures across Australia's diverse landscape. He underwrites open market and facultative reinsurance placements while maintaining careful oversight of the Syndicates risk exposure.

Drawing on experience across broking and underwriting roles at SLE, Willis Towers Watson, and Argenta, Henry brings comprehensive market insight to his work. He values the relationship-driven nature of the insurance industry and has developed strong professional networks globally, including throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
Ellie Chen Underwriter - Property
Ellie has been underwriting property ISR business for the last four years. In addition Ellie manages the Delegated Authority Administration running portfolio analysis and cover holder performance. .

A Commerce and Financial Accounting graduate from UNSW, Ellie brings a sharp analytical mindset to every submission. Her favourite part of the job? Seeing the beauty in the complex ways risk is shared and shaped across the market, especially when the risk is anything but standard.
